The Cokaó Story

Cokaó Chocolate Company began in the spring of 2012, based on the handcrafted, artisan chocolate blend that is Cokaó.  The name Cokaó (pronounced Ka-Ka-o) comes from the combination of Cacao – the tropical American evergreen tree known for its cacao beans, from which cocoa and chocolate are made, and Kakaó – the Russian word for Cocoa.

Cokaó is the creation of long-time friends Michael J. Auer, a seasoned culinary artist, and Kristina Bacheva, a food and chocolate aficionado.  The two wanted to create superior chocolate desserts using chocolate from around the world.  Michael felt it was very important that the desserts were simple and easy to produce.  They went to work developing a chocolate blend or "base" that can be used as a main ingredient in a multitude of desserts.  Using only the finest European chocolate and natural ingredients, Michael and Kristina created a blended chocolate they call Cokaó.  

Many locations, including some of Florida’s best restaurants and bakeries are poised to offer delicious Cokaó chocolate desserts and sweets on their menus.
